“I moved to France from the UK in August 2008. I had previously attended several beginner classes in French prior to leaving but found in a large group it was often very difficult to find a balance, as some students were more advanced than others. Through work we encouraged to learn French and weekly lessons with Veronique from Linguapolis commenced now over a year and a half ago. From the very first lesson we were spoken to in French only. You can imagine the surprise, but Veronique was able to communicate what she meant, not just through words but using mime, exercises, cards, music, tapes and role play. The lessons are structured, we talk about the things we have done during the week which helps us with our spoken French but we also work through exercises and have progressed to the point now where I am happy to use my French in day to day life situations. In addition to this the lessons are fun and the atmosphere is always relaxed. "I arrived in France in 1992 with (almost) no knowledge of French to work in a large corporation whose language of communication is English. In the years that followed, my spoken French developed very well, but that was not the case for my written French.
